The 1998 Neuromorphic Workshop

What a place. Great science. Amazing engineering. Great people. Wonderful scenery. These are a few pictures from the last week of the 1998 NFS Neuromorphic Workshop. This page shows the 'bots, the banquet, the people, the group, the city of Telluride, Tomboy mine, Bear Creek, and the Sneffles Highline trail.

The 'bots

The robots aren't the most important part of the Neuromorphic Workshop, just the most photogenic. Here are some samples.

The Banquet

There was a wonderful banquet at the end of the workshop. My favorite skit was by the Neuromorphs: _rec02.jpg, 128 x 96, 4.5K _rec01.jpg, 128 x 96, 4.8K _rec19.jpg, 128 x 96, 6.1K _rec05.jpg, 94 x 128, 4.1K

There were other wonderful skits

And of course the awards and the colleagues

The People

Lots of great people. Here are a few of them

The Group

These are some of the people who made it to the last day: the group reviews the progress.

Telluride

Telluride is in a wonderful box canyon.

Tomboy Mine

One of the popular trails out of town is the road to Tomboy, an abandoned mine. Alex Koch and I biked and walked to the top.

Bear Creek

Bear Creek and its waterfall are a short walk north of town.

Sneffles Trail

The Sneffles Highline Trail is great. It starts in Telluride and I highly recommend it. We did the loop counter-clockwise. Wise choice. Up on the steepest part early in the morning. Summit by 10. Then the long downhill back to Telluride. First pictures on the way up to the pass

And pictures from the trip back down to Telluride
